Army will always obey govt orders: Katawal
Chitwan, February 23:
Chief of Army Staff Rookmangud Katawal today said the Nepal Army would always follow the direction of the government.
He said this to mediapersons during his visit to the house of NA Pyuth Lancenayak Hira
BK at the settlement of squatters in Bharatpur-11 this morning.
When asked about deployment of the NA in the Constituent Assembly polls, he said, “The NA will obey the government’s orders.”
He said the NA has proportional representation of several communities as per the constitution of 1990.
Showing his sacred thread (janai) to journalists, he said, “Though I am from Chhetri caste, I am against caste discrimination.”
He also ruled out any form of caste discrimination in the NA.
Katawal said his visit to BK’s house is personal.
Meanwhile, Katawal inaugurated a guest room constructed for ex-armymen on the premise of First Rifle Battalion in Bharatpur today.
Earlier yesterday, he met those people, who were injured in Badarmude incident two years ago.
