Arubote carnage: Nepal Police team collecting evidences
Panchthar, May 24
A team deployed from Nepal Police’s Central Bureau of Investigation to investigate the carnage in which nine persons were killed continued its work to collect evidences from the incident site and its surrounding areas at Arubote of Miklajung-3, in Panchthar today as well. A six-member CIB team led by Superintendent of Police Uma Chaturvedi had reached the incident site on Wednesday.
The team had inquired locals about the horrific murder after it inspected the field yesterday. According to DSP Narendra Kunwar, the team visited the incident site and the route used by Man Bahadur Makhim before he committed suicide. “The CIB team also observed the cremation of victims of the murder yesterday,” said DSP Kunwar.
On Monday night, four members of Bam Kumar Phiyak’s family and five members of Dhanraj Serma’s family were hacked to death in Miklajong Rural Municipality, Arubote. Man Bahadur Makhim suspected to have been behind the carnage later committed suicide, making the probe complicated.
Meanwhile, cash and gold recovered from Bam Kumar’s house were handed over to his eldest daughter Buddhi Maya, while property from Dhanraj Serma’s house was handed over to his relative, said Panchthar CDO Murari Wasti.
