ASI confesses to murdering wife

Panauti, April 3:

ASI Chiranjivinath Timilsina, incharge of the Khopasi police post in Panauti municipality of Kavre district, today confessed to having killed his wife Laxmi alias Gauri, 22. He is in custody.

Local women had found Gauri’s her headless body in Khopasi forest outside the municipality and her mutilated head was found 300-metres away.

Inspector Shyam Krishna Adhikari said ASI Timilsina confessed that five days ago he called Gauri, who was living in Kathmandu, to see him in Banepa and took her to the forest and murdered her. Timilsina scalped Gauri, cut off her nose and plucked out her eyes and also slashed her whole body and hid the head 300 metres away from the body.

Police had yesterday recovered Gauri’s broken mobile phone, a khukuri haft, jacket zipper and safety pins from the spot.

A resident of Hati VDC-7, Makwanpur, Gauri was married to Timilsina in February. She was a student in Mahendra Ratna Campus at Tahachal in Kathmandu.

Police has also kept AIS Timilsina’s father Lilanath in custody at Dhulikhel.

Gauri’s father Shyam Prasad Chaulagin has lodged a case of murder against Timilsina. Meanwhile, the Gauri’s post mortem was carried out at Scheer Memorial Hospital in Banepa. Police have not clarified the murder motive.
