Ministry of Education requests to close educational institutes for three days

KATHMANDU, SEPTEMBER 28

Landslides along the Nagdhunga-Naubise road section have killed at least 14 people.

According to DSP Shailendra Thapa, assistant spokesperson for the Armed Police, these bodies were recovered from three buses that were hit by landslides. He informed the media that the bodies of eight men, five women, and one child had been removed from the bus.

On Saturday, a landslide occurred in Jhyaplekhola of the Nagdhunga-Naubise road section, which borders Chandagiri Municipality of Ward No 2 Dhading.

Thirty-five teams from the Armed Police Force Nepal No 18 Nilbarahi Force, led by DSP, have been deployed for rescue and search efforts.

Meanwhile, the Ministry of Education, Science, and Technology has requested that all schools and universities across the country close for three days.

On Saturday, the ministry issued a statement requesting that all schools and universities across the country be closed for three days beginning Sunday due to emergency management requirements in educational institutions' buildings.

According to the ministry, this decision was taken in response to reports that university and school buildings have been damaged, students and parents have been displaced by floods and landslides, transport has been disrupted, and daily life is difficult.

Similarly, it has been requested to close for three days so that people displaced by floods and landslides can be temporarily housed in the educational institution's building.
