MAKAWANPUR, OCTOBER 27
Ashta Laxmi Shakya, the Chief Minister of Bagmati Province, has resigned.
CM Shakya submitted her resignation to the Province Chief Yadav Chandra Sharma today, according to the province Chief's Secretariat. She resigned in accordance with Article 169 (1) (A) of the Constitution of Nepal.
Chief Minister Shakya had already stated at a meeting of the Province Assembly that she will retire from her position today.
Following her resignation, the Provincial Chief Sharma has set a deadline of 3:00 pm tomorrow for claiming the position of Chief Minister.
