Baidhya,Thapa unite

KATHMANDU: The two left parties — Mohan Baidhya led CPN-Maoist and Pari Thapa-led CPN-Unified —announced formal unification on Sunday. Organising a joint press meet, the two parties announced their merger. The new party has been named CPN-Revolutionary-Maoist. According to General Secretary of the CPN-Unified Pari Thapa, a 199-member unity convention organising committee would be formed after a joint meeting on Monday. On October 28, the two parties had informed about their unification through a press statement. Both the 151-member central committee of CPN-Maoist and 29-member central committee of CPN-Unified were dissolved.
