DHANGADHI: A yarsagumba picker has been found dead in Kanda VDC of Bajhang on Thursday.

SP Tulasi Prasad Adhikari of the Far-West Regional Police Office said Dhirka Bahadur Bohara (28) from Kanda-3 of Bajhang district died in Dhungilek of Kanda.

Meanwhile, police suspected that the man might have been murdered. Police nabbed 32 persons in connection to the incident.

It has been learnt that the man was robbed of Rs 5,000 cash and a bag containing yarsagumba, also considered the Himalayan Viagra.

Yarsagumba is a fruiting body that is formed by the fusion of parasitic fungus Cordyceps sinensis and the host moth larvae.

During yarsa picking season, dozens of robbery and other criminal activities are reported every year.
