BAJURA, AUGUST 14

Twenty-year-old Sujata Rokaya of Badimalika Municipality-1, who was receiving treatment at the Bayalpata Hospital, was taken back home while she was still receiving medical care, owing to financial issues, despite doctors' recommendation to keep the treatment running.

Bayalpata Hospital, where Rokaya had been admitted, referred her to Kathmandu for further treatment. However, as the family lacked the financial means, she had to be taken back home despite suffering heart ailments.

Earlier, Sujata had been brought to the district hospital and later was referred to Bayalpata Hospital in Achham, where she had been under treatment for the past two weeks.

Lal Bahadur Karki, spouse of Sujata, shared that let alone affording treatment in Kathmandu, they did not even had adequate money for ticket fare to get to Kathmandu. "Thus, so I had to to carry my wife back home," he lamented.

Karki added that he had taken some sum in loan which covered for her treatment in Bayalpata Hospital.

It has been learnt that Sujata has a four-year-old daughter as well.

Sujata sheds tears as she mentions that she has lost all hope of surving. "It has already been a month since I fell ill, I have failed to receive proper treatment."

Meanwhile, Rokaya, who is in desperate need of financial assistance, has made an appeal to the concerned authorities as well as social organizations for support.
