A woman living in a cave with her son for the past five years has been given shelter in Khaptadchhededaha Rural Municipality, Bajura.

Fifty-five-year-old Jalu Budha of the rural municipality expressed happiness after she was given shelter at a quarter of Kada Health Post. The rural municipality and police helped the woman shift to the quarter after the news of the woman living in the cave was published in different social media. Rural municipality Chairman Dil Bahadur Rawat said a room was provided to the son and mother after news with a photo was published. He said that he was unaware of the woman, earlier. "But the woman was rescued on Friday and offered a room after the news was published," he added.

Rawat said that the rural municipality had offered a room to the woman along with clothes, utensils and food materials, among other essentials. He informed that the rural municipality had taken the responsibility for accommodation of the woman and the kid's studies.

The mother and son are malnourished. Senior Assistant Health Worker Narendra Budha at Kada Health Post said that the health post had been taking care of the woman and child. Budha said that the health post had been treating the malnourished woman and her son and their condition was improving.

Jalu's husband Bhane had tied knot with her after his first wife could not give birth to a boy. Jalu has three sons. Her elder son Chakra Budha, 18, is in India, next son Kushal, 12, is with his father and sixyear-old younger son Min is living with the mother.
