KATHMANDU, MAY 23

An Indian woman climber scaled Mt Everest this morning making her 4th summit of the 8000m peak this season.

According to Babu Sherpa, Managing Director at Peak Promotion Pvt Ltd, Baljeet Kaur has successfully scaled Mt Lhotse on Sunday becoming the first Indian to have summited four eight-thousanders in a single season.

She summited world's fourth highest peak with her guide Mingma Sherpa, Sherpa added.

This is her 4th 8000m+ mountain in this spring season, according to Sherpa.

Baljeet and Mingma have summited;

1. Mt. Annapurna I (8091m) on 28 April 2022

2. Mt. Kanchenjunga (8586m) on 12 May 2022

3. Mt. Everest (8848.86m) on 21 May 2022

4.Mt. Lhotse (8516m) on 22 May 2022
