DHANGADI, NOVEMBER 20
Police were forced to fire shots in the air at a voting centre after a dispute broke out in the Darchula. The firing took place at Malikarjun secondary voting centre at Gwani Bagaura of ard No 5 of Sailyasikhar Municipality.
The dispute at the voting centre had temporarily halted the voting process, said District Police Office Darchula. The dispute had ensued after a person cast his ballot in someone else's name.
Meanwhile, representatives of independent candidates broke open the ballot boxes.
The voting was halted after representatives f the CPN-Maoist Centre and independent candidates got involved in the dispute.
The ballot box was broken open after the dispute between independent representative Kamal Bhandari and Maoists agent Kuar Bhandari erupted.
Ballot papers were also set ablaze at the oting centre in Ward No 1 of Swamikartik hapar Rural Municipality, Bajura. Police are et to reveal the people behind the incident.
