DHANGADHI: Kanchanpur Police on Sunday recorded statements of Bam sisters detained in connection with Nirmala Panta’s rape and murder.

In their statements, the sister-duo denied their involvement in the crime, an official informed.

Police had arrested Roshni Bam and her sister Babita Bam of Bhimduttanagar-18, a week ago.

The investigation is yet to conclude, according to Deputy Superintendent of Police Krishna Ojha.

The sisters are in police detention in accordance with Kanchanpur District Court’s remand order.
