Nuwakot, January 26:
Owing to a Maoist-called two-day bandh, life came to a halt in the districts of Nuwakot, Rasuwa and Sindhupalchowk today.
All the educational institutes and business centres remained closed and roads looked deserted as there was no vehicular movement, reports from Nuwakot and Rasuwa said.
While Trishuli, Battar, Devighat and Ranipauwa of Nuwakot remained closed, there was no vehicular movement along the Pashanglahmu highway.
The bandh also crippled life in Rashuwa. Demanding the decision to hike the price of petroluem products be reviewed, the Maoists had warned the government last week that they would call a bandh in the three districts if the demand was not met.
Meanwhile, life came to a halt as there was no vehicular movement along the 67 km stretch between Nawalpur and Gaidakot on the second day of the Maoist-called Nawalpur area bandh.
