Bandh enforces held from Jhapa

JHAPA: Seven cadres of the Federal Limbuwan Party-Nepal including Central Secretary Bisham Thapa Magar were arrested on Sunday from Birtamod of Jhapa district in course of enforcing an indefinite strike in nine districts east of the Arun River.

They called the strike demanding declaration of the nine districts under the Limbuwan autonomous federal state.

Among the arrested are Secretary Magar and his cadres Mangal Rai, Arjun Tamang, Upendra Ektan, Mohammad Himroj, Sami Paluwang and Amar Yonghang.

They were arrested while forcing the vehicles off the road from early morning and shutting down shops in the area, Area Police Office, Birtamod said.

Due to the strike, few vehicles were seen plying on the road, according to the District Police Office, Jhapa.
