DAMAULI: The life of Tanahun people has been hit hard by a general strike called by Magar Rastriya Mukti Morcha, demanding annulment of the new constitution, which they claimed was biased, on Monday.

Damauli, Dumre, Khairenitar, Aabukhaireni, Bandipur, Bhimad and Dulegaunda among other market areas in the district are shut from the early morning.

Long- and short-distance vehicles have not plied on the street except the vehicles of press, tourists and others carrying daily essentials.

Security personnel are deployed in a large number considering possibility of clashes between people participating in victory rallies and protests in Damauli.
