Bandh hits Panchthar locals hard
PANCHTHAR: Kirant Janabadi Workers Party (KJWP) demanding the release of its cadres has called indefinite Panchathar district bandh on Sunday.
Vehicles bound to long and short routes from Phidim, the district headquarters stayed off the road while markets and shops in Phidim remained close due to the strike. Passengers heading to different places were stranded due to the strike.
KJWP said that the bandh was called in transportation and market sectors. The party will not create any obstruction to motorbikes and the vehicles of diplomatic missions and educational institutions, the party source said.
Police had arrested four KJWP workers including and a central alternate member from Phidim bazaar last Wednesday.
