Police have arrested three persons for their involvement in the murder of a child in Bara.
The arrestees Kiyamudin Mansuri (25), Amar Hussein Miya Hajam (21) alias Afsan, and Abedin Miya Ansari (19), all hailing from Bhaluhi in Jeetpursimara Sub-Metropolitan City-23, were made public during a press meet in the premise of District Police Office, Bara, on Wednesday.
The trio kidnapped 14-year-old Sahid Hussein Miya, son of a local Jakir Hussein, on February 23 and subsequently killed him.
Following the kidnapping of Sahid, his father Jakir Hussein filed a missing case report at the Bara DPO on February 25. Later, on March 12, Sahid was found dead at a dumping site in Behara of Jeetpursimara-10.
After a preliminary investigation, police detained the trio on suspicion, informed Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) Gautam Mishra, Spokesperson at the Bara DPO. Trained dogs were also involved in the investigation, DSP Mishra added.
The accused confessed that their family and the Sahid's family were embroiled in land-related disputes following which they killed the child, claimed DSP Mishra. The trio had been staying in the village after the murder and was detained from their homes, he added.
Police have filed a case against the trio, and have been remanded in judicial custody for further investigation informed Bara police.
