Beltar reeling under drinking water crisis

UDAYAPUR: Residents of Beltar Bazaar have been deprived of drinking water for the past two days, after water supply pipes were swept away by landslides.

More than 3,000 families in Ward no 1, 2, 3, and 6 of Beltar Besaha Municipality in northern part of Udayapur district have been reeling under acute shortage of drinking water. Some 500 meters of water supply pipes were swept away by landslides, according to Chief of the Area Police Office Rajendra Parajuli.

A team of civil and Armed Police Force has been sent to carry out necessary maintenance.

The source of the drinking water supplied to Beltar Bazaar lies some seven kilometers north of the Bazaar.
