BIRATANAGAR: CPN-UML leader Pradeep Kumar Bhandari has been unanimously elected the Speaker of the State Assembly of Province 1.

Lawmaker Tulsi Prasad Neupane had proposed his name while Laxman Tiwari had seconded the proposal.

Senior most member of the State Assembly Om Prakash Sarawagi had announced Bhandari’s unopposed election to the post of Speaker after the proposal and secondment had been passed by the Assembly.

The next meeting of the assembly is scheduled for 4:00 pm today itself.
