Bhattarai cynical about Dahal-led government

Damauli, August 15

Naya Shakti Party-Nepal Coordinator Baburam Bhattarai today claimed that the incumbent government led by the CPN-Maoist Centre Chairman Puspa Kamal Dahal wouldn’t be different from past governments and would certainly fail to work in favour of the people.

Speaking at a press conference organised by Press Society Tanahun chapter in the district headquarters Damauli today, Bhattarai scoffed at the dispensation that was born with a ‘time prescription’, and asked, “What on earth can such a temporary government that will last only for a few months do?”

“As the government is an ‘interim’ one, it will be very difficult to get the bureaucracy and other bodies to follow its line, hence the problem,” argued the former Maoist leader.

Taking the opportunity to advocate a directly elected executive head of the country to ensure a stable government and development, Bhattarai also called on all political stakeholders to stand together to solve the problems facing the nation.

Further, identifying the economic strength of a country as the basic prerequisite for development,  the Naya Shakti chief also called on partymen to be ready to shoulder the responsibility of the country if the need arises.
