Big III finalise election candidates in Rolpa
The Nepali Congress, the CPN-UML and the CPN-Maoist Centre have picked their candidates for the second phase of civic polls scheduled for June 28 in Rolpa.
The NC has named Lekhnath Acharya as its mayoral candidate and Mishri Hamal as its deputy mayoral candidate for Rolpa Municipality. Similarly, Tek Bahadur Basnet and Sarita KC have been selected as the party’s candidates for chair and vice-chair respectively for Runtigadhi Rural Municipality. Jhakku Prasad Gharti Magar and Laxmi Dangi are its candidates of chair and vice-chair respectively for Duekholi Rural Municipality.
In Sunchhahari Rural Municipality, Durge Budha and Saru Pun Magar are contesting for chair and vice-chair respectively, while Durga Bahadur Khadka and Bhimkali Budhathoki are vying for chair and vice-chair respectively in Lungri Rural Municipality, from the party.
Likewise, the NC has picked Gopal Gharti Magar and Gothi Khatri for chair and vice-chair respectively for Madi Rural Municipality, and Kamal Prasad Budha Magar and Radhika Hamal Pun for chair and vice-chair respectively for Tribeni Rural Municipality. Likewise, Sher Bahadur Mahara and Kabita Upadhaya are candidates of chair and vice-chair respectively in Subarnawati Rural Municipality, while in Thawang Rural Municipality, Bom Bahadur Roka Magar and Shree Kumari Roka Magar are in the fray for chair and vice-chair respectively, from the party. For Sukidaha Rural Municipality, Hari Bahadur Pun Magar and Amrita Kumari KC have been named candidates for chair and vice-chair respectively, from NC.
The main opposition UML has yet to finalise its vice-chair candidates in almost all levels in the district. The party has, however, finalised its mayoral and chair candidates, in the district. Mina Sharma and Nanda Kumar Acharya are the candidates of mayoral and deputy mayoral posts respectively from the party for Rolpa Municipality. Balaram Budha Magar and Chhamaya Gharti Magar have been named its chair and vice-chair respectively for Runtigadhi Rural Municipality. In Duekholi Rural Municipality, Lokendra Gharti Magar is vying for chair and, in Sunchhahari Rural Municipality, Rimu Khatri is contesting for chair, from the party. In Lungri Rural Municipality, the party has fielded Rajendra Budhathoki for chair and Prem Gharti Magar for chair in Madi Rural Municipality. Shanta Kumar Oli has been picked for chair in Tribeni Rural Municipality and Khim Chandra Pun Magar, Hit Bahadur Roka Magar and Roshan Kumar Oli have been named chair candidates for Subarnawati, Thabang and Sukudaha rural municipalities respectively.
Similarly, CPN-MC has fielded Purna KC and Man Kumari Gharti Magar for mayoral and deputy mayoral posts respectively for Rolpa Municipality and Govinda Pun Magar and Chandrakali Gharti Magar as candidates of chair and vice-chair respectively for Runtigadhi Rural Municipality. Nimakanta Dangi and Hit Kumari Budha Magar are candidates of chair and vice-chair respectively for Duikholi Rural Municipality and, for Sunchhahari Rural Municipality, Aash Bahadur Pun Magar and Tripana Gharti Magar, candidates for chair and vice-chair respectively, from the party. Tularam Khadka and Manakhana Gharti have been named the party’s candidates for chair and vice-chair respectively for Lungri Rural Municipality.
CPN-MC has finalised the names of Nanda Bahadur Pun Magar and Dhanikala Gharti Budha Magar as chair and vice-chair respectively for Madi Rural Municipality. Ganga Prasad Budha Magar and Lalsari Gharti are candidates for chair and vice-chair for Tribeni Rural Municipality. In Subarnawati Rural Municipality, Gunendra Gharti Magar and Bangmati Thapa are vying for chair and vice-chair respectively, from the party. Bir Bahadur Ghari Magar and Ramkirani Roka Magar have been picked candidates for chair and vice-chair for Thawang Rural Municipality, from the party. Likewise, Bir Bahadur Khatri and Rita Gharti Magar are candidates of chair and vice-chair respectively in Sukudaha Rural Municipality, from the party.
