KATHMANDU: A person lost his life in a hit-and-run case in Basgadi, Sainamaina-12 of Rupandehi district on Wednesday.

Rider Santosh Thapa (24) of Buddhanagar, Sainamaina-7 died after the truck hit his bike (Lu 20 Pa 5894) from behind at around 7 pm yesterday.

Thapa, who was critically injured in the incident, breathed his last during the course of treatment at the Lumbini Zonal Hospital, Butwal in the district.

Police have launched a manhunt for the truck driver, who is on the run after the incident.
