KATHMANDU: Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli has said that BIMSTEC is a bridge to link the regional organisations like South Asian Association for Regional Cooperation (SAARC) and Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN).

Addressing the National Assembly meeting today, the Prime Minister said that intensive discussions were held with the heads of states and governments of BIMSTEC member states during their participation in the fourth BIMSTEC Summit.

According to the PM, the fourth BIMSTEC summit concluded in Nepal with far-sighted decisions, incorporated into the 18-point Kathmandu Declaration.

Prime Minister Oli said that all Nepalis have received the credit for successfully holding the BIMSTEC summit by accommodating all sides diplomatically.

He also thanked and praised all sides concerned for their contributions to make the BIMSTEC summit a success.
