Biplav-led CPN cadres attack NCP (NCP) leaders in Jajarkot

JAJARKOT: The central members of ruling Nepal Communist Party (NCP) — Jajarkot sub-incharge Niraj Acharya and Karnali Province Committee member Dambar Bahadur Singh — were attacked and injured today morning.

The NCP leaders were attacked while they were on their way to take part in a programme in Barekot Rural Municipality. They were going to take part in a function being organised to administer the oath of office and secrecy and training session for NCP (NCP) leaders. The duo was attacked near Rahapani Waterfall in Laikham area of Barekot-8.

Leader Acharya said one of the five persons who approached from the opposite direction thrashed and injured them. He said the intruders had asked which one of them was Dambar Bahadur Singh. When Singh identified himself, the youth suddenly attacked them.

Leader Acharya said the attacker who identified himself by the name "Arjun" said he was a battalion commander of Netra Bikram Chand (Biplav)-led Communist Party of Nepal (CPN).

Reacting on the attack on NCP leaders, NCP (NCP) Jajarkot chair Dhakabir Rana has demanded stringent action against the culprits.

Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) Shyam Bahadur Khatri at Jajarkot District Police Office (DPO) said a team of security personnel have been deployed for the onsite inspection. He said they are yet to ascertain the details of the incident and establish the identity of the attackers.

The CPN has not reacted on the attack carried out on the NCP (NCP) leaders.
