Biratnagar repairing CCTV cameras

Scores of close circuit cameras installed on the streets of Biratnagar Metropolitan City, Morang, are being repaired after they stopped functioning properly.
Most of the CC cameras in the city have become dysfunctional as per DSP Surendra Sitaula. Morang Trade Association had installed CC cameras in 23 busy areas of the metropolis some four years ago.
The metropolis has started repairing the cameras keeping in view security of the metropolitan city. “Of them, around 10 to 15 may function after repairs,” said DSP Sitaula.
As per him, many CC cameras were damaged during Madhes movement while remaining went out of order while cables were removed during road upgradation. “We are all set to beef up security by bringing the cameras back to operation,” said DSP Sitaula.
Mayor Bhim Parajuli said they were repairing CC cameras for the sake of a safe and secure metropolis. He said repair of those cameras was necessary from security point of view in the metropolis.
