Birgunj, August 5 :

A team of Nepal Police personnel today left for Patna in connection with investigation of yesterday’s incident of shooting in which a businessman Bhikham Ch-and Agrawal was injured.

The team left for Patna to interrogate Hit Lal Sahani, a member of an Indian criminal gang Chhote Lal Sahani, said Yadav Adhikari, SP at the Parsa District Police Office. Hit Lal has been serving term in the Boxer Jail of Patna for the past two months, police said. SSP Manoj Kumar Shah, chief of the Narayani Zonal Police, blamed local businessmen here of encouraging criminals by providing cash.

He lamented criminals demand cash from businessmen, who instead of informing police handover the demanded cash. “Criminals have been attacking businessmen but the police have failed to arrest the culprits,” said Bijay Sarawagi, chairman of the Birgunj Chamber of Commerce and Industries.
