Bishwokarma Pooja being observed across Nepal

KATHMANDU: Bishwokarma Pooja, a Hindu festival, is being observed across Nepal on Saturday.

Bishwokarma is a divine architect who designed the flying chariots of the gods and goddesses, according to Hindu mythologies.

The day, which falls on the first day of the month of Ashwin as per the solar calendar, is observed primarily by artisans, craftsmen and craftswomen, mechanics, smiths, welders, industrial workers and factory workers wishing for safe working conditions and success in their respective fields.

On the occasion, people offer red and white clothes to their vehicles and decorate them with festoons.

Meanwhile,it is reported from Pokhara that the festival is observed with high spirit in the popular tourist destination and its vicinity.
