BAGLUNG, JULY 4

Just two months after a road was blacktopped at Painyupata of Baglung Municipality, it has started wearing off.

The blacktopping has peeled off at four places.

Potholes have been developed in around 500-metres of the road section.

The road was blacktopped under the strategic road project of the federal government. The Road Division Office, Baglung, said work had begun to repair the road. Most of the roads, which were blacktopped in the final days of the current fiscal, have been damaged by floods and landslides. They have worn off and caved in.

Similarly, a road in Amalachaur of Baglung Municipality is being blacktopped, but it has been reported on social media that the blacktopping has already started peeling off. The Road Division Office refused to admit that the substandard materials were used during the road construction and the roads were built in a hurry.
