BANKE: A bomb went off at Unified CPN-Maoist, Nepalgunj office at around 5 a.m. today. The office building was partly damaged in the explosion. Window panes have been smashed while the wall and the ceiling have some cracks.

According to District Police Office Banke, a pressure cooker bomb had exploded in the party office. Police added that a gang had managed to flee after planting the bomb in the office. However, no casualty was reported.

Tarai Jantantrik Mukti Tiger (Jwalasingh group) has owned up the explosion. Bhagat Singh, central committee member of the outfit, owned up the explosion over a phone.

Meanwhile, deputy coordinator of UCPN-M Tharuwan State Committee IP Kharel said people having criminal psychology attacked their office.
