Blasts in Banke, Gulmi districts

A pressure cooker bomb went off at the office of Kalika Construction at Habaldarpur, Banke, today.

DSP Yagya Prasad Bhattarai of Area Police Office Kohalpur said the bomb exploded at the office of the construction company at around 12:30am on Sunday. DSP Bhattarai said people involved in the incident were yet to be identified.

Police on Sunday morning arrested Dev Bahadur Rokaya of Mugu from Nepalgunj for his suspected involvement in the incident. “A manhunt to nab the people involved in the explosion is on”, DSP Bhattarai said. Kalika Construction Project Manager Yubaraj Kshetri said the explosion had damaged the asphalt plant of the company.

Similarly, improvised explosive devices went off simultaneously at Baletaxar, Ruru Municipality; and Tamghas of Resunga Municipality in Gulmi. No casualty was reported, said police. Meanwhile, a pressure cooker bomb was found in the middle of the road in Dhurabazaar of Kamalamai Municipality, Sindhuli, on Sunday morning. “A Nepali Army team defused the bomb,” said DSP Binod Sharma of Sindhuli Police Office.
