Patients, who are in need of blood, have been adversely affected due to lack of technicians at Nepal Red-cross Society’s blood transfusion centre in Ramechhap.

Nepal Red-cross Society had established blood transfusion centre in Ramechhap some seven months ago. The centre failed to provide blood to the patients due to lack of staffers.  Nepal Red-cross Society is the only body in the district that has the permission to run blood transfusion centre. Equipment used at the centre for blood transfusion has also become dysfunctional.

Chairman of Nepal Red-cross Society Ramechhap Shiva Kumar Karki said bringing technicians from Tamakoshi Cooperative Hospital and Primary Health Centre created a lot of trouble so they started the process to hire staffers.

Dr Suman Karmacharya at Tamakoshi Cooperative Hospital said the hospital could not provide blood to patients as the hospital did not have the permission to operate blood transfusion centre.
