Bomb planted at Jhapa church, 4 cops hurt during disposal
JHAPA: As many as four security personnel were injured while trying to defuse a bomb in remote Surunga of Jhapa in eastern Nepal on Tuesday morning.
A team of security personnel, led by DSP Sajjwol Maharjan had reached the site after receiving information about the discovery of explosives at a local church.
The security personnel brought the bomb outside the church. But the bomb exploded while trying to defuse it, injuring four policemen.
DSP Maharjan and Assistant Sub-Inspector Dev Narayan Yadav are among the injured.
The injured are being treated at the Birtamod-based B& B Hospital.
Police said investigation into the incident was underway.
