Bomb goes off near Gauriganga Municipality office in Dhangadhi

DHANGADHI: An improvised explosive device (IED) went off near Gauriganga Municipality ward 10 office in Dhangadhi this morning.

The explosion however did not cause any kind of damage, according to Dhangadhi District Police Office spokesperson Bir Bahadur Budhamagar.

Likewise, a suspicious object found near the Purwar Oil Store of Dhangadhi Sub-Metropolitan City was defused by the Nepal Army.

The incidents have reportedly taken place on the day when Netra Bikram Chand-led Communist Party of Nepal-Maoist has called a bandh.

On Friday evening, police had arrested a party member Manu Nepal for taking out a torch rally.

As a result of the bandh, public transportation as well as industries have remained shut.
