MANANG, JANUARY 22

Manang district has witnessed heavy snowfall, but the booster shot campaign against COVID-19 is going on here.

Health Office, Manang, said booster shot campaign had been started targeting citizens who received the second dose of Covishield and Vero Cell vaccines at least six months ago.

Chief of Office Badri Acharya shared about the availability of Covishield and Vero Cell vaccines for booster shot, adding that Moderna vaccine for children aged 12 to 18 was also available in the district.

Acharya said personnel of Nepali Army, Armed Police Force, Nepal Police and health workers of the district hospital were given booster dose on Wednesday in the district headquarters, Chame.

Until January 20, other officials working in the district hospital were given booster shots amid the snowfall.

The targeted people were given booster shots yesterday in Naso Rural Municipality.

The health office said the targeted people would be administered booster dose on January 24 in Chame Rural Municipality while the campaign would be held in Disyang Rural Municipality on February 3.

However, the booster shot campaign has not been announced in Narpa as the people there have migrated to the lowlands to escape the chilling cold.

Manang is the first fully-immunised district in the country against COVID-19.
