Border panel meets

Kathmandu, December 22:

The Joint Technical Level India-Nepal Boundary Committee (JTC) has completed more than 98 per cent of mapping work. The committee’s two-day meeting, which ended today, also recommended the extension of its mandate by six months till June to complete the remaining task.

“The JTC has also directed the concerned officials to complete the office and field work with vigour and with a spirit of mutual cooperation,” stated a press statement issued by the embassy of India today.

The Indian side is led by Major General M Gopal Rao, Surveyor General of India and the Nepali side by Toya Nath Baral, Director General of Survey Department.
