Border to be sealed for Bihar polls
Biratnagar, May 22:
The customs point in Morang and Sunsari will be closed for a day on May 26 keeping in view the municipal polls in India’s Bihar state.
The decision to this effect was taken in a meeting of security heads of Morang and Sunsari districts and their counterparts of Arariya district in Bihar, at Jogbani’s Bathnaha today.
Chief district officer of Morang Modraj Dotel said the decision to close the customs point was taken after the local administration of bordering areas in Bihar requested for it.
Dotel said a large number of the security personnel were deployed and security checks intensified from evening today.
The elections in Bihar will be held in seven Nagar Nigams, 42 Nagar Parishads, 70 Nagar Panchayats and 2,936 wards.
