RAJBIRAJ, OCTOBER 2

A murder has come to light in Saptari. A police investigation has revealed that a youth from Khadak Municipality, accused of being involved in a love affair with a girl studying in the eighth grade, has been killed in Saptari.

The victim has been identified as Mohammad Ajim Muddin, 18-year-old son of Mohammad Samiullah of Ward No 11 of Khadak Municipality.

According to Saptari District Police Office, the body of Ajim, who had been missing for the past three weeks, was found packed in two sacks and dumped in the village pond.

The body was unearthed last Saturday. On the day of Sri Krishna Janmashtami on September 7, Ajim had gone to the village fair, and in the evening he had left his friends expressing his intention to meet his girlfriend.

When he did not return home, his family members searched for him throughout the night and the following day.

After not finding him for a long time, they reported Ajim as missing to the police.

Even after searching for a long time, Ajim could not be found. Subsequently, based on statements from friends who had last been with him, police launched an investigation.

According to DSP Dhundiraj Neupane, some suspicious individuals' information led to the beginning of the search and police concluded that Ajim might have been murdered. As the search continued at a pond in the village, the first clue was the discovery of a tractor tire ring.

As water was drained out of the pond, Ajim's body, which had been packed into two sacks, was found.

The decomposed body was examined at BP Koirala Institute of Health Sciences, Dharan.
