BPKIHS joins international network
Dharan, February 17:
The Dharan-based BP Koirala Institute of Health Sciences (BPKIHS) has become a sister organisation of the International Society of Nephrology (ISN).
The ISN has selected the BPKIHS as the former aims to help the latter fight against kidney diseases. It will also help the BPKIHS to gain more knowledge about various kidney diseases in 2008 and 2009.
This is the ‘first time’ that a globally recognised organisation has supported Nepal’s health sector. “Now we have been included in the international network fighting against kidney diseases after a long period. We hope to treat patients suffering from all kinds of kidney related diseases,” said Dr Sanjiv Kumar Sharma of the BPKIHS.
Dr Sharma said that 15 kinds of kidney related diseases cannot be treated in Nepal.
