BRB’s exit figures in UCPN-M CC meeting

Kathmandu, December 3

On the second day of its meeting, the central committee of Unified CPN-Maoist focused on former senior leader of the party Baburam Bhattarai’s departure from the party.

Leaders termed Bhattarai’s exit as political deviation and a grave mistake.

Vice-chairman Narayan Kaji Shrestha opined that Bhattarai’s decision to leave the UCPN-M was a serious political deviation and added that he would not be able to give birth to a new force.

Party General Secretary Krishna Bahadur Mahara said Bhattarai had committed a grave mistake by leaving the party.

Bhattarai’s former aide and Deputy Prime Minister Top Bahadur Rayamajhi accused him of leaving the party 15 times in his 32 years of attachment with the party.

“Bhattarai is a person who cannot respect others,” he said. He said it would be better for Bhattarai to join the party with the aim of improving himself.

Party central member Ghanashyam Yadav and Umesh Sah told the central committee that they had returned home after Bhattarai abandoned Marxism.

Discussion on Chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal’s political document started from today and will continue.
