Brig Gens get extension

Kathmandu, June 3:

The government has extended the tenure of four brigadier generals of the Royal Nepalese Army (RNA) — Keshar Bahadur Bhandari of Military Secretariat, Dilip Rayamajhi of the Department of Military Intelligence, Bharat Bahadur Rayamajhi of the Western Division Headquarters at Nepalgunj, and Bishnu B Gurung of the RNA’s Division of Finance — for two more years as per the provisions of the recently amended regulations. The government may soon appoint military attaches in China, India, Bangladesh, Pakistan, the US and the UK. The tenure of a military attache, according to the existing provision, is for three years. While Brigadier General Bijaya Chandra Rai resigned recently, Major General Prakash B Basnyat, who was commanding the Western Division Headquarters in Pokhara, was posted to the Master General Ordinance (MGO) in RNA Headquarters in Kathmandu, Major General Amar Panta, who was working as adjutant general (AG), was posted to Pokhara, Major General Om Bahadur Pun of the MGO was posted as the commander in the Eastern Division. The previous commander of the East, Pradip Pratap Bom Malla, was posted as the AG.
