Buddhist nuns reach Lumbini after completing 2,500 km cycle tour
KATHMANDU: A team of 250 Buddhist nuns completed a 2,500 km cycle tour and reached Lumbini, the birth place of Gautam Buddha, on Saturday.
The nuns from the Druk Amitabha Mountain (Seto Gumba) of Ramkot had set on a journey on November 18 with an aim to spread awareness about women empowerment along with environment conservation.
Upon their arrival at Lumbini, they were welcomed by Ajit Man Tamang, a member of the Lumbini Development Trust.
The team, organised by 'Live to Love International' visited different places of India including Kushinagar, Bihar, Gorakhpur, Gaya, Patna, Rajgiri, Varanasi, Ilahabad, Kanpur, Agra and New Delhi.
