SINDHULIMADHI: Developmental works in Kamalamai Municipality have been affected as the council meeting could not be held in time.

Lack of consensus among political parties has created problems in the allocation of the budget for various works.

According to Bhupalraj Baral, executive director of the municipality, the office was facing difficulties in allocating the budget for developmental works as the political leaders could not allocate their time for the council meeting and other meetings conducted by the office.

Dirgharaj Shrestha, leader, UCPN-Maoist, said that they were preparing to allocate the budget after holding an all party meeting within a couple of days. He said, "We willaccomplish the work before the budget freezes."

About Rs 58,980,513 is on the verge of freezing.

Rajentra Gajurel, assistant accountant of the municipality said that the office has only been able allocate the budget for administrative expenses of the office.
