PHIDIM: Just like spiders and octopuses, a buffalo calf was born with eight legs in Ilam on Wednesday. However, it was stillborn.

The calf has a head but all other body parts are double of a normal calf.

The male was born to a buffalo reared by a local farmer Narendra Chaulagain of Sangrumba -6, Ilam.

Veterinary doctor Teknath Regmi operated on the buffalo after it could not deliver on its own. Though the baby was born dead, the mother buffalo is healthy, Regmi added.

Locals here, astounded by the unconventional birth of the calf, have crowded around the house to get a look of it.
