BIRATNAGAR:  A cyclist died after being hit by a passenger bus at Jhameli Chok in Biratnagar of Morang district on Friday.

The deceased has been identified as Lalit Mahato (40) of Radhakrishna Temple in Biratnagar Sub-Metropolitan City-20, said the Biratnagar-based Eastern Regional Police Office.

Mahato, who sustained critical injuries after being rammed by the passenger bus (Ba 2 Kha 5093), breathed his last on the way to Biratnagar-based Koshi Zonal Hospital.

Meanwhile, police have detained the bus driver for further inquiry, said police.
