Business body calls indefinite bandh

RUKUM: Local chapter of Chamber of Commerce and Industries (CCI) in the district called for an indefinite bandh in Khalanga, the district headquarters, beginning Tuesday. The bandh follows, what the CCI claims as, district administration office’s failure to address its various demands.

After local marketplaces were shut , normal life in the district headquarters was adversely affected. The CCI has demanded that the road linking to Khalanga be immediately repaired and compensation be given to the locals whose houses were demolished during the road construction. “The bandh will continue until our demands are met,” said Tek Bahadur Pun, chairman, CCI.
