Butwal launches perspective development plan

BUTWAL: Butwal Sub-Metropolitan City has launched its 15-year perspective development plan, preparing the base for municipal prosperity. The perspective plan also includes a five-year periodic plan.

At a press conference held at Butwal Sub-Metropolitan City on Tuesday, feedback was collected from the expert group, thematic expert sub-groups, direction committee and advisory committee along with feedback from ward people on the perspective plan, shared Mayor Shivaraj Subedi.

Mayor Subedi informed that the third municipal assembly had endorsed the integrated development master plan of the sub-metropolis after discussing it in different thematic committees.

The plan includes development of wards 1 and 2 of Butwal Sub-metropolis as archaeological settlement, building Batauli Museum in the old building of the then Butwal Municipality, construction of a massive statue of Buddha at Hill Park and Buddha Circuit Park, preparation for the construction of Ramapithekas Geological Park at Shivanagar community forest, preparation of a master plan for Milan Park, settlement management schemes, and celebration of Baisakh 7 (April 20) as Jitgadhi victory day.
