Dhangadi, January 19

One week after assuming the post of chief minister in Sudurpaschim Province, Rajendra Rawal is struggling to expand his Cabinet.

Rawal, who appointed two portfolio-less ministers during his swearing-in as head of the province government, has failed to assign any ministerial portfolios to the ministers inducted thus far.

CM Rawal is said to be deliberating an expansion only after the confidence-vote and directions from the centre. Sources have also said that the newly appointed CM is heading for the capital to hold discussion on the issue very soon.

He is to meet and hold discussion with CPN-UML Chairperson KP Sharma Oli and Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal regarding the vote of confidence and prospects of giving the government full shape.

Meanwhile, Province Assembly members of Nagarik Unmukti Party led by its parliamentary party leader Rameshwor Chaudhary are also heading for Kathmandu. The party, as a precondition to cooperation with the government, has been lobbying that its demands be addressed first.
