Call for disabled-friendly govt offices in Dhading

Dhading, December 3

At an interaction programme organised yesterday by the District Women and Children Office, people with physical disabilities lamented that no public buildings in the district had developed disabled-friendly facilities for them.

They said the recently constructed training hall and toilet at the Cottage and Small Industries’ Development Committee did not have disabled-friendly structure.

The administrative section of the District Court, Baglung is nearly inaccessible as it is on the third floor of its building.

Other government offices and schools are also not disabled-friendly.

On the occasion, Chief District Officer of Dhading Leeladhar Adhikari pledged to make initiatives to ensure disabled-friendly structures in new public buildings and easy access of government and non-government services.
