Call to free abductees

Family members of people abducted by the Maoists, in a press release issued today, have called on human rights organisations and the media to press the latter for the release of the abductees. Rati Man Rana Magar, ex-VDC chairman of Arkha VDC, VDC secretary Ishwari Khadka are in Maoist custody since mid-June, the press release stated, adding: "RNA ration contractor Dron Kumar Kakshapati and his son Dipendra Kakshapati were abducted on April 6." The Human Rights Centre of Pyuthan, the Pyuthan Chamber of Commerce and Industry, the Construction Entrepreneurs’ Association, the FNJ, family members of the abductees, among others, have repeatedly appealed to the Maoists for their release, but to no avail.
