Cartel pelts stone on new bus along Gorkha road

GORKHA: Passengers, a bus driver and police personnel have been injured after the some bus entrepreneurs pelted stones on a new bus heading to district headquarters from Arughat of Gorkha district.

A group of youth mobilised by the Transport Entrepreneurs' Committee Gorkha barricaded the road and pelted stones on the bus in Dhanbase of the district reasoning that the Arughat Transport operated the bus on the Arughat-Gorkha route. They also vandalised the bus.

The bus (Na 5 Kha 7211) belonging to Chairman of Arughat Transport, Khadka Bahadur Ale, was vandalised by those imposing cartel on transportation. One of the passengers, Buddha Laxmi, said, "The bus was moving on a difficult section of the road. But, some people suddenly pelted stones. I got an injury on my hand by the windscreen smashed by stones."

Another passenger Lila Gurung said it was quite worrying to make the passengers victims in the fight between two bus entrepreneurs.

Meanwhile, Chairman of Transport Entrepreneurs Committee Gorkha, Ramhari KC, admitted that they vandalised the bus.

Deputy Superintendent of Police Janak Raj Pandey said those involved in the vandalism would face action.
